Description
The standard Midland Railway signal lamp case. It was also used on level crossing gates. Dimensions are approximately 5mm high x 3½mm wide across the lenses. It was also found on the Midland & Great Northern, and is essentially identical to the Lancashire & Yorkshire signal lamp. Post-grouping conversion of signals to upper quadrant arms normally saw replacement of the lamp with a more modern type (SC0011 or SC0025), as the lamp would have to move from the right to the left hand side of the post.
