Description
The Lancashire & Yorkshire was one of the relatively few British railways to have its own design of signal arms. This fret covers the Raynar Wilson type, introduced in 1893, and the later 1912 design. Most had been replaced by upper quadrant arms by BR days. In general, the 1893 design would have been seen on posts fitted with the SC0013 ball and spike finial, whilst posts with the 1912 arms would have had SC0017 cruciform finials.
The actual size of the fret is 61½ x 98mm; it is etched in 0.012″ brass.
