Description
These coaches had 48 seats arranged 2+2 in one large saloon, and were much used on excursion and relief workings together with open thirds to D186/302 (Comet Models E24S). They were built on both the earlier riveted and the later welded angle truss underframes. One was rebuilt in 1942 to D326 with a 2½T van capacity rather than the standard 10cwt, losing two seating bays in the process.
